There's something to be said about the stillness of abandoned locations. There's a sort of morbid beauty in seeing things frozen in time; dropped by the people using them in a moment of fear or desperation. It's incredible to see places that used to be ridden with smiling faces, wonderfully polluted by laughter and the sound of children, to end up in a state of abandonment and to be replaced with rust and silence. Here are the haunting remnants of a few abandoned cities around the world:

Pripyat, Ukraine

The Chernobyl incident occurred in this city, causing it's residents to evacuate and abandon their homes in 1986 because of nuclear radiation. The Haunting Remnants of These Abandoned Cities are a Sight to See 0 - https://www.facebook.com/diplyofficial

Centralia, Pennsylvania

Another mining town that was abandoned, however this one was abandoned due to safety reasons. A mining fire broke out causing its residents to flee back in 1962. The fascinating thing is that the fire is still burning the coal to this day. The current population of the city stands at ten people in 2010.
