These stunning photographs look like something out of the movie Inception with their gravity-defying poses. The photos are the result of a collaboration between photographer Robert Boesch and the Swiss trekking equipment brand Mammut. The shoot took place on the Swiss Alps, enlisting skilled mountaineers, equipped with Mammut products, to help create elaborate shots for the campaign.
A large part of the campaign was capturing the route that Edward Whymper took 150 years ago to reach the Matterhorn peak. Whymper and his team were the first to ever reach the peak, so Boesch literally illuminated this fact by having mountaineers climb up to a certain location and turn on a red light, creating an eerie photo. Other photos include the team repelling off peaks, and aerial shots of the team forming an outline of the continents. Check out the amazing photographs below, and be sure to check out the video that shows behind-the-scenes footage of the making of the shoot.
